21 July Been very busy!All i seem to have done is work and run around doing chores for the last few weeks. Last weekend was no exception, especially the Friday. It was my long weekend and we were planning to go to Tewkesbury for the biggest medieval re-enactment in England. All i had to do was pack the car during the day so i decided to pop down to see my friend and drop off a key because she was looking after our cats the weekend. Ended up taking her to the hairdressers and got stuck there for 2 hours!!! Because we were so desperate for a wee afterwards we drove straight back to hers. Then it dawned on me that i had not dropped Cliff's prescription in so i drove back across town again and then realised i had not picked up the firewood for our brazier when i was at my friends!!! So drove back across town again to collect it. Eventually got home to find my baby cat had shredded a starling in the house, there were feathers everywhere!!!! After much bellowing, i had to hoover the whole house and still had not finished packing. Did not leave until 7.30pm but the trip up there was easy enough. When we got there the field was so muddy we dared not drive down onto it so we had to carry everything down to the camp, luckily it was not far! So we set up our giant medieval tent, it was now dark and we were starving and we then discovered the plugs were missing from our airbeds. Not happy to be sleeping on the floor, i don't do roughing it. Then the neighbours kept me awake through earpugs! Needless to say i only got four and a half hours sleep and was not a happy bunny the next morning. But was cheered up when a friend lent a couple of campbeds to us. The weather kept fine for the battle and despite being knackered from being marched down in 7 stone of armour, i loved every minute of it. It was also an especially good weekend because we bumped into so many old friends that we had not seen for years. Getting ready to do it all again at Berkeley Castle next weekend but we will be setting off midday this time!
Been knackered all week because of last weekend but i'm now on holiday for 2 weeks so plenty of lie ins for me i think. Comments (6)
